New Blogsite

I have finely finished my new blog page as promise.  The new link is http://livinlifeinromans7.blogspot.com. I plan on posting on it tonight for I am long over due. Let me know what you think of the new site! Check out my sister's site as well (I placed a link for it on the left side). This is a bittersweet moment as I leave Xanga, but I figured everything else is changing so I figured my blog site should follow suit.  I hope you will continue reading!

Changes

This blog has been a long time coming. I have moved to Southern Indianan and start classes at Southern Seminary since my last post. The move went well. I have been here for exactly 9 days now. I have adjusted better than I expected; probably because I have been too busy to think about home. Orientation was two Fridays ago. I was able to meet lots of people, eat free Chick Fil-A and Grader's ice cream. Yum! I enjoyed it. Over the weekend I unpacked and settled into my new room. I also hung up all my pictures and wall decor which makes it feel more like home.

On my way to my new apartment from St. Louis, I followed a rainbow for a good part of the way through Indiana. I found this very encouraging. It was in front of my apartment complex when I arrived.  I took it as God's reminder to me that He is faithful.

I started classes last week. I like them. Lots and lots of reading though. I think I will have read at least seven full books by the end of the semester (not counting the reading from various textbooks and articles). I pray that God gives me a discerning and humble heart as I learn about Him. This will sound silly, but I kind of felt like Reese Witherspoon from Legally Blonde as I was sitting in class with my laptop (although it's not pink). I feel so out of place with all of the smart, deep, theological thinkers in my class. I will probably never know as much as them, but I enjoy listening to the discussions.

I have been on several interviews. I have an interview this Monday at 2:00 with FedEx that I am very excited about. Please pray for me! I am about interviewed out...

Also pray that God guides me in finding a church home.

New experience: I was stuck at a railroad crossing while a train went by for the first time. Considering I live right by one, I am sure it won't be the last time either.

I am already sick of traffic on the I-65 on ramp and Kennedy Bridge.

A certain event that has taken place in my family the first weekend I was gone has left me bitter and angry towards a certain person. See my sister's blog (khovie.blogspot.com) for more info on that. Pray that Kristi will do what God wants her to do and not take the easy way out. Please pray for my attitude towards this as well. (I am actually on the phone with Kristi right now and I am in very poor spirits about this whole ordeal).

About that new blogsite, I am working on it...

Happy Times

As my time in the STL dwindles, I have been spending extra time with friends. This past week my sister and I spent an evening with Andy and Angela cooking summer tomato pasta and watching Stranger than Fiction and another evening with Courtney eating ice cream and catching up on all that we have missed in each other's lives lately. These along with others have truly been blessings to me and I am going to miss these people very much when I move. The reality of me leaving is setting in and I have been praying fervently that God would prepare me for all the upcoming changes.

Today a few events happened that caught my eye:

1. When my sister and I pulled into the lot of our apartment complex and got out of the car, I noticed out of the corner of my eye, a yellow smiley face () bouncing across the lot. I thought it was a little odd, but just assumed it belong to some of the neighboring kids.

2. Dana and I took a walk later in the evening. On our way back from the apartment, she spotted a yellow ball in the ditch on the other side of the road. She thought about going to get it, but refrained while I silently wondered if it was the I saw bouncing earlier.

3. After Kristi and I got groceries, we were hungry and decided to go to IHOP (as opposed to eating the food we just bought, haha). We called Andy and Angela and invited them to join us and they agreed. While we were waiting on our food, Angela lifted up her water glass to reveal condensation that was left in the shape of a perfect . Very odd. We took pictures (below).

4. On the way back from IHOP, my sister and I were chatting it up when my headlights fell upon a bright yellow  lying in a ditch (near our apartment-the same yellow "ball" Dana and I saw earlier). I quickly turned around, took a picture (below), and then brought him back home for Dana.

I found these odd events rather comforting. It was like little encouragements from God and I am thankful for them.

Side note: I am going to switch to blogspot.com because that is where my sister is (who is my best friend in the entire world). Details will be furthcoming when I get the new account set up.
